Posters & editorial for The Gallery

The visual voice of The Gallery — an independent contemporary art space in Tbilisi. A series of event posters where every show speaks in its own voice, and a recurring editorial system for the gallery's social presence, built inside one coherent identity.

Goal

The Gallery wanted each event to have its own visual character. Youthful, direct, a bit irreverent. The challenge wasn't consistency in style but consistency in attitude: every poster should feel like it belongs to the same space even when it looks completely different from the last one.

Task

Nine posters for an independent art space in Tbilisi, each for a different kind of event, plus two recurring editorial formats for social media: a structured interview series and an artist spotlight. The interesting constraint: make it all feel like one identity without forcing anything into a template.

Solution

I kept the system minimal: a corner logo, a consistent info block, a fixed typographic approach to dates and names. Within that, everything was made from scratch for each event. Every background and every piece of lettering was created specifically for the show it announces, not pulled from a shared library.

A gallery that changes its voice every month.

The Gallery runs a dense program of exhibitions, lectures and pop-ups. Each event has its own tone — a textile group show, a philosophy lecture series, a fashion showcase — and a single locked-down identity would flatten everything that makes the program interesting.

Instead, the system is held together by small, consistent anchors: a tiny corner logo, a recurring information block, and a shared way of framing dates and names. Inside that frame, every poster is free to look like the show it announces.

One system, eight voices.

Each poster starts from the subject: a textile exhibition leans on hands and sky; a lecture on anarchism in art borrows the aesthetic of a printed pamphlet; a glass-sculpture show breathes through motion blur and chroma.

Typography does the heavy lifting — contrasting display treatments carry the mood, while a quiet sans-serif keeps the factual information legible and consistent across the series.

Nine events, nine covers.

Six artists working with textile as language — soft sculpture, weaving, embroidery and fibre objects gathered into a single room where everything is held, literally, by hand.

5 Questions for the Artist.

A recurring interview format built around five questions per artist. Each series opens with a cover card — the artist's portrait with their name as the dominant element — and continues with question/answer cards interspersed with artwork photography.

Two colour registers: charcoal for Polina Orlova, navy for Tasia K.

What's Your Inspiration.

A lighter series focused on individual artists connected to the gallery. Each post gets a distinct colour accent applied to the artist's name set in a custom display treatment.

The palette shifts per subject — pink for Nino Gogolidze, purple for Mako Lomadze — while the layout logic stays constant across the series.
